Hi, PAJERO PININ 1.8 GDI '00 "one piece rocker cover" here.

There's a little oil leak from the rocker gasket and I want to do the work by myself. While I am at it I would like to change the nearby gaskets, too, cause I have a little bit of oil in one spark coil. I see the gasket MD346062 (camshaft bearing cap cluster) is below a "sandwiched" frame fixed with cylinder head bolts.

Do I need to replace them with new bolts or can I reuse them? Are there some tricks/precautions to take note?

Thanks in advance and pardon my crude English.

There is a soft copy manual in the resource section.

Go to the resource section and download the manual, it covers the GDI engine.

Cylinder head bolts are torque-to-yield, they can be reused but you have to measure the length to see if they are within spec before reusing them.

One more thing - I'm almost certain the cylinder head bolts do not hold the "beam camshaft cap" in place - as I recall it, that is secured by a number of smaller bolts.
